Thomas graduated in law in 1999 and was admitted to the Danish bar in 2002. In 2003 he was granted a right of audience before the High Courts of Denmark and in 2012 before the Supreme Court of Denmark. Thomas has significant specialist expertise in virtually every key area of insurance and the law of damages, expertise acquired through his law studies, basic lawyers’ training, continuous supplementary training and more than 25 years of working in and for the insurance industry. His legal training and career have also taken him to Switzerland, Germany, the USA and England. For more than 15 years, Thomas has litigated and arbitrated cases before the Danish courts and tribunals, representing businesses, insurers, public bodies and private individuals. Moreover, in 2015 Thomas completed the training programme hosted by the Association of Danish Law Firms, thereby becoming a certified arbitrator.

Anne graduated in law in 2008 and was admitted to the bar in 2012. In 2017 she was granted a right of audience before the High Courts of Denmark. Anne has been working on law issues relating to insurance and damages since 2005, and through the years, she has acquired extensive knowledge of key law issues relating to insurance law and the law of damages – spanning from the drafting of conditions and clauses and claims handling to the practical and strategic aspects of litigation before the courts.

Jacob Strandgaard Andersen

Jacob graduated in law in 1997, and since then he has been working as an attorney and as an in-house lawyer in Denmark and abroad.

Jacob has significant expertise in all aspects of maritime and transport law and has advised large and small enterprises and insurers on accidents, claims handling, procedures, contract negotiations, risk management and insurance requirements. Moreover, Jacob has practical experience at sea being a trained navigator.

Jacob has been appointed temporarily as a high court judge at the Western High Court of Denmark and has wide experience in litigating and arbitrating cases before the Danish courts and tribunals, in particular in cases relating to insurance law and the law of damages. In 2003 Jacob was admitted to the bar, and in 2005 he was granted right of audience before the Danish High Courts.

After having worked several years as a lawyer in Germany, he has gained substantial knowledge of the German market and business culture.

Since graduating in law, Jacob has acquired key expertise through supplementary training in Denmark and abroad, including an LL.M. from McGill University in Montreal, and has specialised in UK maritime law at London Metropolitan University.

Isabell Olesen

Isabell graduated in law from the University of Copenhagen in 2015 and was admitted to the bar in 2018. Since 2010, Isabell has been working with the law of damages and insurance law, in particular personal injury compensation, and she has wide experience in litigating before the Danish district and high courts. Isabell is also a part-time teacher in civil law procedure at the University of Copenhagen and gives lectures at the Danish Insurance Academy.

Kathrine graduated in law from the University of Copenhagen in 2019 and is particularly interested in the law of damages and insurance law. Kathrine has several years of experience from the insurance industry, where she was engaged in claims handling in general commercial liability and product liability cases as well as provided legal aid services.

Cathrine gained her experience from working in a legal aid service, a government agency and the legal profession.

Gunilla W. Josephsen

Gunilla has deep insight into transport and insurance law and the law of damages from her many years of working in the transport and insurance industry and the legal profession in Denmark and abroad. Working in and for the insurance industry has also given Gunilla extensive practical experience with claims handling, in particular, assessment of responsibility, review and survey of personal injury and property damage cases. Throughout her legal career, Gunilla has also acquired significant knowledge of case preparation and the considerations and measures required in a litigation process from start to finish.
