Jens has more than 25 years of experience advising and representing companies, public authorities and private individuals in complex legal matters and disputes.
He advises Danish and international clients on commercial matters, with particular expertise in insurance law and liability claims. His experience includes complex disputes involving major property damage, product liability, personal injury and professional liability, including directors’ and officers’ liability. Jens advises and represents clients throughout all stages of a dispute, from assessing liability and insurance coverage to developing strategy, negotiating settlements and conducting litigation or arbitration proceedings.
Through his work on some of Denmark’s largest insurance insolvencies, Jens has gained extensive insight into the operation and run-off of insurance companies. This has also given him in-depth knowledge of the interplay between insurance law, insolvency law and financial regulation. He advises on distribution arrangements, insurance agents, MGA and coverholder structures, as well as insurance and reinsurance agreements. His experience also includes reinsurance programmes, risk transfer and the relationships between insurers, reinsurers and intermediaries.
Jens also advises on general commercial law. He has extensive experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements and advises on M&A transactions, both domestic and cross-border.
Jens has acted in a significant number of court, injunction and arbitration proceedings, including several cases involving matters of principle and significant legal importance. He is a certified arbitrator and has the right of audience before the Supreme Court of Denmark.
